Disappointing Encounter

We had lunch at this newly-opened sushi restaurant called Shin Tokyo at Yew Tee Point, 2 days ago. It's a subsidiary of Ramen-Ten. The exterior seems quite ok for a sushi restaurant so we decided to give it a try.

The moment we went in, we were greeted by this hooligan-looking waiter, with disgusting looking long fringe and golden-dyed hair. To be precise, the waiters in the restaurant were mostly those typical Ah-Beng you will see hanging out at the void-decks. No wonder the standard of service in Singapore is declining when restaurants are hiring people like these and proper trainings are not provided. Their image totally spoils our mood at the point in time and furthermore, the attitude of the waiter SUCKS totally. On top of that, we were told that certain plates of sushi we ordered are not available. However, 5 minutes later, those particular sushi appeared on the conveyor belt!

Already feeling hungry and disappointed by the quality of service and food available, we were greeted by more amazing disappointment when the food was served. Guess what! We found a strand of nose hair in our Tom Yam Ramen! We are so pissed by then that we did not even bother to make it known to the management. Instead, we left the strand of hair on a piece of serviette and left it on the table.

The waiter clearing the table noticed our note and informed the manager about it. When we are making payment at the counter, the manager approached us and told us that he was aware of the note we left and decided to take the particular order out of our bill. Although we appreciate his gesture of goodwill, it has already tarnish our image of the restaurant and I do not think we will be back there again anytime soon.
