The 7 princess went on an outing to Settlers Cafe @ Dhoby Ghaut to celebrate our 4th year of friendship. It was a fun-filled evening together before I went for my trip to Beijing. The cafe had many unique games to keep us occupied for the entire evening. - Xuan

Supper with Esplanade peeps at Xin Wang Cafe

We had dinner with the Esplanade peeps at Xin Wang Marina Square after our show. It was hell of a fun time with them, as we crapped about everything under the sun.

Xuan's post Beijing Trip

It's the eve of Xuan's departure for her trip to Beijing. We celebrated Alan's birthday in advance. Had dinner at Pizza Hut at Lot 1 and bought several clothings, mostly in preparation for Xuan's trip.

We went to watch Street Fighter today at AMK Hub. The cinema is so much better than the one at Lot 1, where the chairs will creak when you sit on it. Furthermore, the service at Cathay cinema is also much better than those at Shaw cinema. As the employee at Shaw are mostly elderlys, they tend to be more impolite and anal about certain things. Anyway, we would say this movie is mainly for Kristin Kreuk fans, who have missed her since the days of 'Smallville'. We were pretty surprised to see Edmund Chen in the movie, as we had not read up on the movie and wasn't expecting his appearance. Being the father of Chun Li (Kristin), his role is also pretty big for a Singaporean in a Hollywood film (even bigger than Edison Chen's 3 sec of fame in The Dark Knight). Furthermore, Edmund even had the chance to be up close and personal with the pretty Kristin. Overall, the movie is ok and we would rate it 2.5/5. Capcom and the producers focused more on Chun-Li and left out the rest of the more popular Street Fighter characters such as Ryu and Ken in this movie. However, we should be able to see them in an expected sequel to this movie.

After the movie, we head off to Compass Point Swensen's for dinner. We were craving for ice-cream and they were the only ones serving the better ice-creams there. Furthermore, Xuan loves their fried mushrooms.

Alan loves it too

Xuan wanted to polish her skills from photography class. So she tried a few shots of Macro-ing.

Alan's day to work

It started to pour heavily when I was about to head out for work today. While waiting at the bus stop, I saw this bangala worker, who was supposedly working at the road, taking shelter with the rest of the people at the bus stop. After some time, his Chinese supervisor came out of one of the void decks at a nearby block, shouted for the bangala to go over and made him stand in the rain to work. I find it very annoying that why does the supervisor have to ill-treat his worker like this. The bangala workers are still human and should be treated fairly too.

Poor worker made to stand in the heavy downpour

Had a long day at work today, as the show is super draggy. It is typical of Indian shows to be draggy but for it to overrun for 1 hour is too much! Already feeling kinda sick, I still have to endure the 'mesmerising' chanting of the Classical Indian Music. Furthermore, the patrons were entering and leaving the concert hall every 5 to 10 mins. One more fabulous thing was the CDs for the programme ranged from $10 to $175!!

Some of the CDs sold today. Would you buy them for $175?

The Tale of Despereaux

We watched The Tale of Despereaux together today at Lot 1. Halfway through, Alan fell asleep for awhile as the storyline was kinda draggy. Furthermore, we concluded that the animation done by Universal Pictures are still not as good as those from Pixxar Animation and Walt Disney Pictures, and the humour is still quite limited in this film. Overall, we would rate it 1/5 star.

Thereafter, we head off to have dinner. Alan found many squid legs in his mee goreng, which looks pretty disgusting, something like the head of this character in Pirates of the Carribean 2. They remind us of a common friend which goes by the nickname of Sotong.

Dedicated to our friend, Sotong

Gonna gobble u up!

I-Dog !!

We went to look for an I-Dog speaker as a reward for Xuan, for passing her exams. Initially, she wanted the normal I-Dog, as it was available in Pink colour. However, the Pink version was sold out when we went to the shop, so in the end we opted for the I-Dog Dance instead, as the sound quality is better than the normal one.
