Alas, a year had passed so quickly and we can still remember celebrating his twenty-third birthday for him and now he's another year older. It was fun having a DSLR, as the pictures captured by camera is really different from the traditional/ historical digital cameras. We had a good hands-on experience, courtesy of one of Shane's BFF Hui Fung. Prior to this, we had never had the opportunity to play around with a DSLR properly thou it's so common nowadays that even the very young and old have one. The effects are wonderful, thou u still require certain skill to capture good shots. We decided to get one as our next camera, unless there are any better cameras in the market soon to come.

We headed to our first experience at the Singapore Garden Festival held at Suntec City. We were invited by Miss Angela, who wanted our company this year to visit the Festival, as she had visited the event alone in the past years. We had a fruitful day appreciating the wide variesties of plants and flowers and gaining our knowledge of the different creative ideas plants can be turned into!

Drove our way to Jurong Point on a lazy Sunday afternoon for some window shopping. We decided to try out the Wendy's fast food restaurant there, as it has always sounded so fascinating from the words of our friend Angela, who happens to live around the area where the restaurant is located.

We find the food was only so-so, as it did not really live up to all the hype and expectation we were anticipating. Furthermore, the service was pretty slow during our point of visit and we even saw several staff members lazing and chit-chatting at the patrons' dining area when the queue is pretty long. The dining area is also quite small, as compared to most of the other fast food restaurants in Singapore.

Saw our favourite Chip and Dale character pillows at MCKY in Jurong Point and we bought it home immediately! It was a lovely pair of pillows and Shane loves to have lots of pillows all around her bed when she sleeps; thus she was very happy with the loot =)

We got a pair of complimentary tickets courtesy of Shane's buddy Yiwei to watch the preview of the NDP 2010 at Padang. The parade is held at this venue only once every five years and we were excited to get the chance to be part of this event. Every participants were clad in the national colour of red and white it was a spectecular view sitting at the top of the spectator stand. Though the view of the actual parade was rather disappointing, as the main event were mostly facing the grand stand, which was meant for the ministers, it was good enough to be part of the nation's 45th birthday.

Nando's Critics (My Version)

Heard from many friends and critics that Nando's Chicken is so super damn nice. (Maybe after hearing many comments from others that it was oh-so-nice, our expectations grew a little higher) So, in order to get the best taste out of the delicacies, one needs to return again to try it out. And here we are, back at Nando's (Malaysia) which is located at City Square. This is our 2nd time trying out the food here and Andrew Chew (aka Cong Cong) told us that the menu in Malaysia is different from that in Singapore. The price there are of course cheaper than Singapore, but what I can say is the price will justify the standard of the food that are served.

Nando's Peri comes in four different flavors which is Tomato, Garlic Peri-Peri, Hot Peri-Peri and Extra Hot Peri-Peri. Tomato is of course your normal tomato sauce which adds a sourly tingly flavour to your food. Chilli Peri-Peri is oh-so-disappointing, I was expecting some huge difference for it but Garlic Peri-Peri contain a little spicy dicey taste to your food., Hot Peri-Peri a little hotter and Extra Hot Peri-Peri a little hotter than the hottie. (duh!!)

I had chicken kebab and the portion was oh-so-little. Chicken was tender enough for you to 'nom' but the main dish was not filling at all. The peri-peri flavours were too over whelming as well. Fries is a MUST for your sides, as it was sprinkled with chilli powder that "boom" your mouth and the fat fries are just so juicy.

It is only as long as my fork! Not worth it!

Alan had 1/4 chicken which is kinda worth the price. It is surely enough to feed a not-so-hungry man. Sides - Potato salad was nice! I think they used baby potato for this, so small that your can pop it into your mouth in a non-stop manner. And with the skin not peeled, it has this crunchy bites on the outside which tastes so refreshing.

Mild, ticked your taste buds. Hot, gets you in the mood.

Overall we gave it 2.5 stars. Want it good? Go to Nando's Singapore. Want it cheap? Go to Nando's Malaysia. It's your choice!

Went down to IMM last Thursday and this Gachapon caught our eyes. It includes our favourite Bread Bread Chip & Dale Key chain. Definitely, we are going to try our luck on this machine.

I've graduated!!!

I should say, studying is really not my cup of tea. Since young, I wasn't a fan of books neither storybooks nor encyclopaedias but comics. Seriously, I doubt my capability of studying. I graduated with only 169 points in PSLE, passed my 'N' levels with 10 points. My principal advised us to move on to ITE, if we didn't want to end up repeating our "O" levels. ITE life was great - no stress, no pressure, work was easy and tutor there had whole lot of time for us if we don't understand what they are teaching. BUT...... poly life was totally different. (if you understand what I'm going to say, that's great!) We have whole lot of shit to do which include group projects, individual projects, presentations, homework, on-line quizzes and the list goes on...... Life in Ngee Ann consists of different moments, Sweet when we scored As in certain presentation or modules, Sour when we needed to go for presentations cause that was real scary, Bitter when we burn midnight oil just to finish up studying for exams or chionging for project deadlines and Spicy when we don't agree with our group mates.

Nevertheless, whenever I think back to the first day I entered polytechnic, I never regretted studying there. I've gained lots of things there like, certificates(duh!), experience, endurance, teamwork, and of course friendships.

First of all, the best friend in my life, YanPing. It's damn sad that we didn't manage to study in the same semester, but we did manage to graduate together and of course our spirits are forever there for each other.

Nope, no flowers (in the earlier post I have already said he wouldn't buy me flowers), no bears, no chocolates, no no no, nothing but...... he drove so that he could drive me to anywhere I want! Goodbye 2009, Welcoming 2010!

It's the last day of 2009 and the start of another new decade. It's amazing how we have just seen the start of one millenium and it's the start of another decade. How time flies! We did not work for the countdown event at Esplanade again this year as we reckon it will be another squeezy event at Esplanade. We headed off to Clarke Quay after our short day's of work, enjoying the roving performances at the Esplanade Park area before heading off to Saizeraya for dinner.

There was a pretty long queue by the time we arrived and thank god Thomas was there earlier to queue for us. We decided to spoil ourselves bad that day, as it is going to be another new year for all of us! Had a sumptuous varieties of Escargot, Clam Chowder, Smoked Duck, Scallop and other dishes. It is really a worthwhile eating place to dine at if you are thinking of having a gathering with your friends.

Thereafter, we headed down to Riverside Walk at Clarke Quay area to enjoy the festive mood and bought ourselves a lighted head band as part of our countdown gear. Took some pictures around the area before heading off to Starbucks at The Central and chill while waiting for the fireworks to take place. Though we can only see part of the fireworks amidst the tall buildings around the area, we were glad that we did not have to be drowned in the crowd somewhere else. We chatted till 2am and took more pictures before heading home to welcome 2010 in our dreamland =).

1st overseas trip with the Esplanade Peeps - Kuala Lumpur

KL Trip

This is abit overdue, but we just had to post it as it is our 1st and most memorable overseas trip thus far with our friends from Esplanade. It took me (Alan) weeks of planning and confirmations before we managed to make this trip happen, as it was hard to coordinate due to the different work/ school schedules each of us has. Special thanks also to Angela for helping out to plan the itenary for the trip...though we did not really stick to it...HEHE

Day 1

We set off bright and early at 7am from the bus terminal at Victoria Street. Took a number of photos on board the coach and arrived at Kuala Lumpur only around 4pm.

Pairing up as couple to get seated on the bus. Alan of cos is with me, the two la - Nortilla with Angela and Alvin with Pei Ling. Poor threesome who got the single seat, Meng Zhong, Andrew and Jaron.

We checked into our hotel - The Legend, a five-star hotel at the out skirt of the main city. Although the location was not really favorable for our shopping trip, the interior environment of the lavish hotel was enough to compensate for its somewhat inaccessible location.

707! Seriously is not that good, try Grassland I would say.

Though we were quite worn out from the coach ride, we decided to make full use of our time and had a quick meal at the Pizza Hut below our hotel, before heading down to Berjaya Times Square to kick off our shopping escapade.

It is a huge shopping mall with many levels of shops selling wide varieties of goods. Although they were not exceptionally cheap, the varieties there were enough to compensate for the price. In the end, only the guys who manage to grab many stuffs I would say. The ladies clothes there are either very old school or not worth the price buying.

Thereafter, we headed down to a row of hawker food stalls, otherwise known as Jalan Alor, which is behind Berjaya Times Square for our dinner and the food there was real cheap! We indulged ourselves in the galore of seafood which we might not be able to afford back in Singapore. It is too cheap to be true.

Day 2

We had our buffet breakfast at the hotel cafe. There was a huge varieties of food as well and filled our stomach so much that we hardly had any space for lunch. We headed off to LOT 10, Sungei Wang Plaza and The Pavillion, which all happens to be around the same area to continue with more shopping. We had lunch at a restaurant in The Pavillion and the food there was good, although the service is kinda slow. Thereafter, we headed off to the Patronas Tower and it started to rain on our way there. We were caught in the rain and had to seek shelter at the convention centre to dry ourselves before proceeding again. Towards dinner time, we headed to our next stop at Petaling Street for some budget shopping and local cuisine. It is one of my favourite shopping haunt for the whole trip as the things there were real cheap. We did not have much time to shop there, as we had to rush for the last train back to our hotel.

Our schedule was quite packed for this day, as we only had half a day left before departing back to Singapore. We had a quick breakfast again at the hotel cafe before setting off to Sogo shopping mall which is just a few train stops from our hotel. However, the area was pretty disappointing, as there was literally nothing much to shop and the things there were identical to what we have in Singapore. After a few hours, we decided to head back to our hotel for some last minute shopping from The Mall below our hotel. Bought some food stuff and grab a quick lunch from the local KFC before heading off to our rooms and pack up for departure at 3pm. Though we were told that the bus would be at the hotel lobby at 3.30pm, it came pretty late and we regretted coming down to wait so early when we could have done more shopping!

Went to Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe located at Liang Court to celebrate my 22nd birthday. Food there was hella cheap and tasted average. BUT you must go and try it cause its damn CHEAP!

Had been celebrating my birthday with them for the past few years, although every year we only had very simple meal but I believe that all of us enjoyed it with our scandal gossip news and updating each other with our current life.

But here I am very pleased with them because of their sincerity. They even brought me individual presents as i requested them to do so before hand. Am very very touched! Thanks Princess with love ♥.

Simple yet Heavenly food moments

Some memorable moments when we had food that were so tasty it melts in your mouth with every succulent chew. First up: Us having a simple yet sumptuous breakfast at the Benoi Road industrial estate on the last day of Shane's internship with her company. Due to our busy life and having fast food for almost every meals, such simple meals never tasted so good before, especially for Shane on her last day with the company located in the God-forsaken land!

Next up: Some refreshing desserts at Dessert Hut located in Chinatown. We had it when we headed down to book the tix for our KL trip with the peeps from Esplanade. It's been some time since we really sat down just to have some quality desserts =) The Mango Sago there was super nice!

A Day Out with Yellow Panda Hello Kitty and Friends

Had a wonderful evening with the Esplanade peeps after a day of work. Chilling and Gossiping is the in-thing with them. Earlier on, I caught a Panda Hello Kitty at Marina Square's Dream Stage that costs me ONLY $7! Whoaa~ Cool catch of the day!

Everyone adores yellow kitty that day so much that they paid me 50cents each to have a photo taken with her. (which is obviously impossible! LOL!)

We headed to our 1st Esplanade overseas gathering to Johore Bahru on Teacher's Day. We departed early at 10am in order to avoid the traffic congestion at the Causeway and arrived at City Square in JB even before the shops were opened! We decided to kick our day off with a Karaoke session at Neway KTV lounge. The KTV sessions there were super cheap (around $4 per pax inclusive of Breakfast Buffet)! Furthermore, the rooms were quite spacious, with wireless mics, a huge TV and complimentary hours if the room is not booked by other patrons thereafter. WHAT A GOOD DEAL!

We headed to one of our current favourite hunt out spots: IMM! It is the place where we can get our worthy dosage of sushi-s and good stuffs. We had dinner at a Curry Restaurant there and the food was quite sumptuous, although the place was pretty small.

I should actually call my company building The Yellow Castle (you will know why later).

Working at K.H.Lee was actually great and relaxed, but it is just the travelling time over to Benoi Road, where it is situated, that is exhausting. I had to work 5.5 days per week, which means i have to work on Saturadays too, which is oh-so-sian. However, I am lucky enough to have met a bunch of nice colleagues, and had wonderful and cheap lunch there too! I bet i gained some experiences that what the other interns did not!

Went to Hort Park with Alan which happen like a thousand years ago, but have yet to publish this post due to blogger technical issues!

Love the Sun, Plants and Fresh Air! I think that all of us are too busy with our present lifestyle and thus we forgot to take a walk around Singapore's awesome parks which air are once so clean and fresh to us.

Now that I am having my attachment at such an odd place down Boon Lay, it makes me feel that mankind are doing way too much to destroy the great nature environment.

As all of you are aware that Boon Lay Bus Interchange are filler with numerous number of buses and cars which make the air so 'poison" that it makes me cough my lungs out. Help! I really need fresh air to keep me awake during work period! Hahahahahaha. Okay I am just being too exaggerating.

Sending Pei Ling off to Vietnam for her 'supposed' 2 to 5 months working trip, but who knows that in the end she went there for like ONLY 2 to 3 weeks. Who cares!? Anyway she is now back in Singapore enjoying supper with us again! Whoooos

Thanks to the oh-so-generous Alvin who borrowed a car from his friend to offer to send Pei Ling off to the airport, thus Alan and me tagged along for a FREE car ride!

We are proud to showcase our collection of Chip and Dale items. It is still increasing at this point of time, and we have spent quite a fortune on them. Although it is still a reasonably humble collection, we are proud that we have collected so much over a period just 1 year =) Our love for Chip and Dale started when we realised that both of us actually looked like each of them, which thus started our craze to purchase them, as well as catch them from UFO machines.

We met up for a durian and dim sum escapade at Geylang. It was fun meeting up with my BFFs, BFFs's bf and Alan went with me as well! We indulged in the aromatic fragrance of the durians. Too bad Cindy wasn't able to appreciate the fragrance as much as we do, as she is an anti-durian woman. We tried to entice her with the durians but it only disgusts her even more =P.

After having dim sum, we went to the nearby fruit store that sell alot of durian! Personally I am neutral with eating durian, but Alan loves it alot! Durian nowadays are selling at quite a cheap price but it doesn't taste as good as before. As you can see, now we don't really have any durian season becuase you are able to purchase durians anytime which it is not attractive for us to buy anymore.

Went to Hort Park with Bffs, had a fun and eventful day as we cracked jokes and laughter together. It's been long since the last time I engage in this kind of leisure walk around the park. My last of such trip was to the Botanic Garden for my Exploring Photography class with Lebbillie and friends which happened like 7 months ago (wow! that was so-long ago). As Hort Park is quite new, there were not much facility, mainly flowers, plants, grasses and more flowers!Hort Park!
